This API License Agreement ("Agreement") governs your use of the Altegio Application Programming Interface ("API") and related services. By accessing or using the API, you ("Developer" or "you") agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Agreement. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the API.
Subject to your compliance with this Agreement, Altegio grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the API solely for the purpose of developing, testing, and operating applications that integrate with Altegio's platform ("Applications").
You are solely responsible for:
- Data Integrity: All actions taken with client data through your Application, including but not limited to creating, modifying, deleting, or processing any data
- Data Loss: Any loss, corruption, or unauthorized access to client data that occurs as a result of your use of the API or your Application
- Data Protection: Implementing appropriate security measures to protect client data, including encryption, access controls, and compliance with applicable data protection laws
- Backup and Recovery: Maintaining adequate backup and recovery procedures for any data you access or process through the API
You agree to:
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards when using the API
- Obtain all necessary consents and authorizations before accessing or processing client data
- Comply with data protection laws, including but not limited to GDPR, CCPA, and other applicable privacy regulations
- Not use the API for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purposes
CRITICAL: You acknowledge and agree that:
- You are fully and solely responsible for all actions, changes, modifications, deletions, or any other operations performed on client data through your Application
- Any claims, complaints, or legal actions brought by clients or third parties related to your use of the API or your Application are your sole responsibility
- You will indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Altegio, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
- Your use of the API or your Application
- Any actions taken with client data through your Application
- Any claims made by clients or third parties against Altegio related to your use of the API
- Any violation of this Agreement or applicable laws by you or your Application
THE API IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALTEGIO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the API
- Any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
- Any damages resulting from data loss, corruption, or unauthorized access
- Any claims, demands, or actions brought by clients or third parties related to your use of the API or your Application
IN NO EVENT SHALL ALTEGIO'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO ALTEGIO IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Altegio, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:
- Your use of the API or your Application
- Any actions taken with client data through your Application
- Any violation of this Agreement by you or your Application
- Any violation of applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights
- Any claims made by clients or third parties against Altegio that arise from or relate to your use of the API or your Application
This indemnification obligation will survive the termination of this Agreement and your use of the API.
You agree not to:
- Use the API in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair Altegio's servers or networks
- Use the API to access, collect, or store personal data in violation of applicable laws or without proper authorization
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the API or any part thereof
- Use the API to create applications that compete with Altegio's core services
- Share, sell, or transfer your API credentials to any third party
- Use the API in violation of any applicable rate limits or usage restrictions
All rights, title, and interest in and to the API, including all intellectual property rights, remain with Altegio. This Agreement does not grant you any rights to use Altegio's trademarks, logos, or other brand features.
Altegio may suspend or terminate your access to the API at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Violation of this Agreement
- Suspicious or fraudulent activity
- Requests from law enforcement or regulatory authorities
- Any action that Altegio believes may cause harm to its platform, users, or reputation
Upon termination, you must immediately cease all use of the API and delete all API credentials.
Altegio reserves the right to modify this Agreement at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the API documentation or via email to registered developers. Your continued use of the API after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Agreement.
This Agreement, together with the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Altegio regarding the use of the API.
If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remainder of this Agreement shall remain in full force and effect.
Altegio's failure to enforce any provision of this Agreement shall not constitute a waiver of such provision or any other provision.
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Altegio operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

By using the Altegio API, you acknowledge that:
- You have read and understood this Agreement
- You agree to be bound by all terms and conditions set forth herein
- You understand that you are solely responsible for all actions taken with client data through your Application
- You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Altegio from any claims arising from your use of the API
- You understand that Altegio's liability is limited as set forth in this Agreement
Your use of the API constitutes your acceptance of this Agreement.
